WEST Perth will look to add dynamism to the forward line with the signing of Swan Districts footballer Rudy Riddoch.

Coach Bill Monaghan said the club was getting close to a deal with Swans and was hopeful the 24-year-old would play reserves against Subiaco this weekend.

“He’s probably missed a little bit of training at our level,” he said. “He did a bit with Swans for a while and has been training at Kalamunda.

“I would think he’s two to four weeks from being in the condition to play league footy.”

Monaghan said Riddoch had family connections at West Perth, which made the Falcons his club of choice.

“He can run, he can kick the ball and he’s a strong lad,” Monaghan said.

“So he could play other positions, but it will be predominantly as a forward.”

In 2015, Swans coach Greg Harding said AFL recruiters were monitoring Riddoch’s progress.

He played 32 league games for the side between 2012 and 2016.
