Kwinana police hunt “hoodlums” tormenting Calista retirement home residents

A gang of youths have been terrorising a retirement home in Calista, according to Kwinana Police.

Acting Senior Sergeant Gary Benzies is appealing for locals and businesses to come forward with footage of the teens.

“These young hoodlums have been causing damage with stones,” he said.

“They have also been pains in the backside to elderly residents at a local home.”

Some of the young people committing offences are as young as twelve.

The youths have also been linked to multiple offences including burglaries, damage and stealing offences in Calista and Kwinana Town Centre.

Snr Sgt Benzies said a number of the young people are known to police.

“We would appreciate that anyone who can identify the members of this group committing offences to let us know so that they can be dealt with according to law,” he said.

“If you see a large group of youths getting around, especially after dark, call police on 131 444 so that we can attempt to locate them at the time.”
