African drummers, Chinese dancers and live music are just some of the entertainment set to feature at an eastern suburbs city’s Harmony Week celebrations.

Festivalgoers will also be able to take part in free activities and workshops, with free rides also available for young children.

Community stalls and food trucks, which will showcase a plethora of cuisines and delicacies, will also be available.

“Harmony Week Festival is all about bringing people together and celebrating the rich diversity that makes our community great,” Belmont mayor Robert Rossi said.

“It’s an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together, learn from each other and feel like they belong and are valued.”

The 2016 Census found more than 40 per cent of Belmont residents were born overseas and more than 29 per cent spoke a language other than English at home.
