The festive season goes coastal this weekend, with Christmas entertainment set to take over the Coogee Beach Reserve on December 17.

Pop rock trio and homegrown Perth talent The Murphy Brothers will headline the day and kick off their performance from 7.15pm on the central stage.

Families will be able to get into the spirit a week out from Christmas Day, with an interactive themed trail along Coogee Beach and the shoreline.

Festivities from 5pm will also include carol singers, light displays, a Christmas-themed photo booth, craft activities for families and food trucks.

“Coogee Beach Reserve will transform into a Christmas extravaganza featuring inflatable Christmas characters, some towering over four metres high, dazzling light displays, roving Christmas characters, carollers, food trucks and more, and an incredibly joyous community concert,” City of Cockburn mayor Logan Howlett said.

The Christmas on the Coast is a free event as part of the Cockburn LIVE series — a six-month program of local events.

Eskimo Joe frontman Kav Temperley was among the line-up of local talent to perform at Beeliar Sun Sets free concert in Yangebup last month.
