Chad Mitchell nephew appears in court after allegedly threatening workers with guns

A MAN accused of threatening construction workers with guns in Madora Bay was denied bail on August 10.

Jared Shayne Mitchell (24) was arrested on August 9 at Mandurah Police Station.

He was charged with four counts of possessing a firearm without a licence, armed robbery, reckless driving to escape pursuit and possession of stolen property.

Police alleged Mitchell entered the construction site during the evening of August 9 and pointed a gun at workers.

They further alleged he stole a work ute from the site and led police on a chase.

He will next appear in Perth Magistrates Court on August 16.

Mr Mitchell is the nephew of Chad Mitchell, whose wife Iveta went missing in 2010.
