Police officer charged with child sex offences after allegedly sending inappropriate images

CHILD Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 41-year-old WA Police officer with child sex offences after he allegedly sent a boy inappropriate images of a sexual nature.

The man is a sergeant with the WA Police force and works in the Perth Metropolitan area.

He has been stood down from duty.

He has been charged with using an electronic communication with intent to expose a person aged under 13 years of age to indecent matter and encouraging a child to do an indecent act.

He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday October 20.
