Shire of Murray seeking nominations for volunteer awards

NOMINATIONS are open for the 2017 Shire of Murray Volunteer Awards.

Nominations are sought in the categories of Young Volunteer of the Year (25 and under), Volunteer of the Year (25 and over) and the newest category, Sport and Recreation Volunteer of the Year.

Shire president MareeReid said the Shire was fortunate to have many volunteers throughout the community who gave tirelessly to their local group or club.

“During the awards ceremony, in recognition of invaluable contributions to the Murray community, certificates of appreciation will be awarded to long standing volunteers from organisations who this year will reach 10 and 20 year milestones,’’ she said.

The 2017 Volunteer Awards form part of the Shire’s Annual Volunteer Sundowner and Awards evening during National Volunteer Week in May.

Nominations close on Monday, April 24.
