Summernats 30: North Dandalup revhead leaves rubber in burnout comp

NORTH Dandalup’s self-confessed revhead Anthony Page won the Burnout Championship at Summernats 30 on the weekend .

The former Pinjarra Senior High School student was blown away with his win.

“I’m the first West Aussie to win this in 30 years,” he said.

Mr Page won the event in his Blown 410 Cube HZ utility.

“I got a trophy and won $2500,” he said.

Mr Page said he had been into cars his whole life.

“I’ve won a few competitions – I got a $10,000 prize from a comp at Perth Motorplex,” he said.

“I love it as a sport, it’s an adrenaline rush.”

It has been an amazing few months for the diesel mechanic who works on the mines.

“I got married in November and my wife was in the car when I won the burnout competition,” he said.

The couple are now enjoying their honeymoon touring the East Coast.

Next year Mr Page plans to compete in the Masters competition against the “best of the best.”
