I HAVE been a Telstra customer for 60 years. When the power went off we still had a phone.
But about six to eight weeks ago a Telstra technician came and put a modem in. We have to have this to keep our phone, but every time the power goes off we don’t have a phone (the modem is for NBN).

READ NOWLast time the power went off all day the modem wouldn’t start up and we had no phone for five days until the Telstra technician came out and got it going.
We are having a lot of all-day power outage in Falcon because they are replacing poles and wires.
When the technician came out he told me I could get a battery back-up to solve this problem, but when I rang Telstra and asked them they told me to buy a mobile phone or get a generator.
I am not very good with modern technical stuff like mobile phones and computers, so why should I have to buy a generator or mobile phone. Where are we going?
