WHY all this expensive talk about a new prison when with a squirt of oil on the front gates the homely, warm and welcoming Old Fremantle Prison could be re-opened?
A good mate of mine many years ago did a couple of years in the old Freo prison and when he was released he told me he would never ever even jay-walk again.
However, all the do-gooders and bleeding hearts can now wipe up your spilt tea or coffee because it will never happen.
We have a much nicer system now where you can attend talk-fests and receive love and pats on the back and then re-offend if you get the urge and miss your mates left behind on the inside.
