Some may argue that dolphins enjoy the presence of speeding boats because sometimes they are seen riding the bow wave.

Well yes, play is an important part of dolphin culture, and bottlenose dolphins do indeed enjoy surfing when they are ready to engage in such behaviour.

But research shows that excessive boat speed has a negative impact on dolphins.
