Tennis: Mandurah youngsters claim grand final wins

TWO young Mandurah tennis teams finished their summer seasons in style after winning the grand finals in their divisions.

The Mandurah Tennis Club’s (MTC) girls 16 years and under division 2 team defeated Hensman Park, four rubbers to two.

The boys 14 years and under division 9 team defeated Reabold, five rubbers to one.

Haruka Smyth and Danielle Booker won their fourth consecutive pennant seasons since joining the club the club two years ago.

Both girls are excited about playing winter pennants starting next month.

Tennis West runs two junior pennant seasons during the year with each division having about six teams from metropolitan clubs.

The MTC has junior social tennis games every Friday from 4pm-5.30pm during school terms, cost $2 each time.
