PEEL Thunder moved into third spot on the WAFL ladder following last weekend’s round of matches without kicking a ball after Swan Districts lost to runaway league leaders Subiaco.

First and second spots, held by the Lions and South Fremantle, have already been secured by both clubs with three weeks of the home-and-away season remaining.

Swans’ 8.6 (54) to 11.17 (83) loss saw them drop to fourth after Peel had the bye, with 17.33 percentage points separating the sides, who are both on 40 points.

East Perth moved into fifth with a big win over West Perth, while Claremont also kept its finals hopes alive after thrashing Perth 20.13 (133) to 5.4 (34).

South Fremantle won its fourth consecutive derby and seventh game in a row this season, beating East Fremantle 22.9 (141) to 15.6 (96) at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The Thunder will be looking to consolidate their third spot this Saturday when they take on Perth at their second-last home game of the season.

Bouncedown is at 2.15pm.

Swans will be up against East Perth.
