A MIRRABOOKA man will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court today, charged after allegedly breaking into the home of an 87-year-old Myaree woman before stealing jewellery and other items.

The alleged incident occurred about 1.40pm Wednesday, when the woman was at home.

Police believe the 32-year-old smashed the laundry door of the Marmion Street property before entering the home.

“Fremantle Detectives took carriage of the investigation and located the man on South Street, Beaconsfield the following morning,” a police spokesman said.

The man was charged with aggravated burglary, stealing and possessing a smoking implement.
