IN what is fast becoming an annual tradition, Applecross breast cancer survivor Mary Easterbrook is preparing to host her third consecutive Biggest Morning Tea – this time inviting more than 60 women to join her on The Classy Lady for a boat trip up the Swan River.
Mrs Easterbrook has raised close to $9000 for Cancer Council WA over the past two years and is hoping to swell that number with activities she has planned for the day.
Departing from East Street Jetty on the morning of May 26, the women will enjoy sparkling wine, nibbles and a live musician with raffle tickets available to buy for donated prizes, including $300 worth of jewellery.

READ NOWA fashion show courtesy of Wilbur the Label, an online store owned by Mrs Easterbrook’s daughter-in-law Rebecca, will await the group once it docks at Barrack Street Jetty.
The Classy Lady owner Elio Allegretta has also donated the use of his boat free of charge for the morning.
“Once we have finished the fashion show and drawn the raffle prizes, we’ll head back to Fremantle and I’m going to hand out song sheets for a bit of a sing-along with the musician,” Mrs Easterbrook said.
Mrs Easterbrook was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer in 2011 and considers herself fortunate to have caught the disease so early.
“I enjoy fundraising and like to host a Biggest Morning Tea each year in memory of those people that weren’t as lucky as I was to survive,” she said.
Last year Cancer Council WA assisted more than 5000 regional cancer patients and close to 8500 contacts were received by the 13 11 20 cancer information and support line staff.
