AFTER first picking up a basketball at the age of four, Brooklyn Paparone has wasted no time making his mark on courts around Perth.
The Alfred Cove eight-year-old nailed a last second three pointer to clinch victory for Lakeside Lightning’s under-11 side at last year’s club championships and this season continues to play well above his age group with the under-12s.
Brooklyn said he started playing with his two older brothers and could not wait until he was old enough to get on to the court himself.

READ NOW“I love scoring lots of points and want to play in the NBA one day,” he said.
“It’s hard playing with older kids but I get to learn from them which helps me to get better at my own game.”
Brooklyn’s Mum Dani Potter said he was 100 per cent dedicated to his sport and constantly surprised his teammates and coaches.
“Whenever he has a spare moment in his day he is always practicing,” she said.
“He’s also a great team player, always looking out for and encouraging his teammates to be positive and try their hardest.
“If anyone is hurt or upset, whether it be in his team or the opposition, he is the first one to offer help.”
