Four people charged over incident that left man with life-threatening injuries

FOUR people have been charged over an incident in January in which a man was allegedly stabbed and left for dead.

At about 1am on Sunday January 15, a group wearing balaclavas forced their way into a home on Spiers Place and threatened the occupants with a firearm.

The firearm was discharged but nobody was injured.

An altercation took place and the group ran off towards Toodyay Road.

The victim, a 48 year old man from Eden Hill, ran after the group to stop them.

He was seriously assaulted and received stab wounds to his head and torso.

He was left unconscious with life-threatening and permanent injuries.

He remained in a coma for two weeks.

As a result of the investigation, in April 2017 the four persons were arrested and charged.

Four people – a 27-year-old man from Bayswater, a 22-year-old woman from Sinagra, a 24-year-old man from Perth and a 23-year-old man from Bayswater – have been charged aggravated home burglary with intent, grievous bodily harm and being armed in a way that may cause fear.
