The band was nominated by online music magazine Music Insight as part of the festival’s Foster a Band initiative and now needs the most votes from the public to get them over the line.

It’s been a huge month for Nicholls, who has also been nominated for WA Live Voice of the Year at this year’s National Live Music Awards.

Demon Days also scored two nominations for this year’s WA Music Awards while completing their first national tour.

Nichols said playing Falls would be a dream come true.

“Playing Falls Festival will be the best opportunity we’ve ever been given,” she said.

“It’ll make it feel real.

“When you just play small venues in Perth, it feels like a hobby or a side project, but to play a gig like Falls, it feels like this could actually be real.

“We’re not just a couple of kids jamming out.”

Music Insight editor-in-chief Anni Fordham said the talented group had a distinctive and eclectic sound that was turning heads.

“Demon Days have influences from hip hop, jazz, soul and funk,” she said.

“They are impossible to categorise; that’s what we love about them.

“They’re incredibly talented musicians who are totally ready to take the next step in their careers, and we hope Perth will get right behind them.”
