Lesmurdie Mercy Health staff find their reason to run

Nurses, carers and kitchen staff from Villa Maria have been training hard for the big day to raise money for Alzheimer’s Australia WA.

Service manager John Herbert said everyone at the aged care home had got behind the training program.

“Our residents are so supportive of the challenge that our team has set; there is a great sense of camaraderie here and everyone is getting pretty excited about the event,” he said.

“The fact that the team is fundraising for Alzheimer’s Australia WA has really encouraged everyone involved; it’s a cause that is very close to the heart of many seniors here at Villa Maria.”

Mercy Health is a Catholic community not-for-profit provider and in WA cares for more than 300 people across six residential homes, with 78 independent living units.
