Lord of the Flies: Swan View SHS students retell classic story

SWAN View Senior High School production Lord of the Flies opened Monday with more shows to run tonight, Friday and Saturday.

Students have been working on the performance since April, rehearsing after school and during the holidays.

The script is based on the novel written in 1954 by William Golding and tells the story of a group of school children being evacuated from England because of nuclear war.

Their plane crashes on an island and they are left with no adults to look after them.

Sadly, things do not progress well with the children losing control of civilisation among the group.

The cast and crew is made up of Year 7 to 12 students with student director Paige Salmons directing her third school production overseen by drama teacher Kate Rogers.

All performances start at 7pm with doors open at 6.30pm.
