Old Swan City Youth Centre demolished as new centre is opened

Justin BianchiniMidland Kalamunda Reporter

AFTER 17 years in Morrison Road, the Swan City Youth Centre building was demolished as the new centre was opened in Padbury Place this week.

“As the centre transitions to our new premises after nearly 12 years of waiting, all young people past and present are invited to join celebrating the end of an era in Midland and the beginning of a new one,” the centre’s Graham Cox said.

Young people released balloons “celebrating the lives of past service users who are no longer with us” before walking to the new centre for hamburgers, karaoke and ice-cream “to keep the celebrations going”.
