Residents shaken after hearing gunshot at Midvale property, police looking for red car

RESIDENTS have been left shaken after hearing a gunshot at a property in Ferguson Street, Midvale this afternoon.

A Police spokeswoman said a man, believed to be 19-year-old Jake Turner, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by ambulance after the shooting, which happened about 12.45pm.

One man, believed to be the victim’s uncle, said his nephew had sustained injuries to his leg.

Detectives are looking for a red coloured late model Holden Monaro (photo attached) that was seen in the vicinity.

Members of the public  who see the vehicle are advised not to approach the occupants but contact Police immediately on 131 444.

A local resident told the Midland Reporter that the street, which runs off Great Eastern Highway, “has its moments”.

Ferguson Street remains cordoned off by a police roadblock.

Police said they believed the men were known to each other, and were conducting further inquiries.
