Dr L R Allen, BickleyMidland Kalamunda Reporter

The full preferential voting system should be replaced by partial.

Then all major parties will have to work harder for our votes.

Also the secret preference deals will be a thing of the past and more importantly, we will not be forced to vote for someone we do not wish to succeed.

Albert Langer took the major parties to the High Court of Australia 50 years ago, desiring partial preferential voting.

He was defeated. It suited both Liberal and Labor to have the full vote.

Now, as before, the Government of Australia will have to wear it.

Some folk have one vote, some two and others three or more.

It is ridiculous and easily avoided.
