Midland Gate Shopping Centre puts call out for fond memories of centre

MIDLAND Gate Shopping Centre has put the call out to members of the community to share their favourite memories of the centre as part of its $100 million redevelopment project.

Midland Gate has been a central part of the Midland community for nearly 40 years.

From the days of ‘Midland Gate’ and ‘Swan City Shopping City’, when the centre was two separate buildings – to the last redevelopment which was completed in 2007 – everyone in the community has a story about Midland Gate.

The centre is calling on the Midland community to share these stories through an interactive competition.

“Midland Gate has always been more than just a local shopping centre,” centre manager Alison Broadbent said.

“It’s been a first job, a favourite outing or even a childhood appearance in a talent quest.

“We want to hear about these stories and share them with our community.”

The competition is open to all local residents aged 15-years-old and above.

Midland Gate will choose 15 winners whose stories will feature in and around the centre.

Winners will also receive a $100 Midland Gate gift card.
