PERTH Glory will be hoping one of its striker’s strike rates continues when it takes on Newcastle in A-League action this Sunday.

Adam Taggart has scored five goals from six starts this season, averaging a goal every 98 minutes.

The 23-year-old and the team will be away to the goalscorer’s former club the Jets, where he won the Golden Boot in season 2013-14.

The Glory, who need to keep winning to stay in the race for the top four, are in fifth place, a point ahead of the Jets and three points behind Melbourne City in fourth.

Taggart sealed the three points for Glory against Wellington Phoenix at Perth Oval on Thursday night with a header just after half-time.

Fellow striker Andy Keogh was played into space by Diego Castro before whipping in a cross for Taggart, who nodded home from close range in the 51st minute. The Glory won 2-1.
