PAUL and Ann Chemello recently opened Alkimos School of Early Learning on Santorini Promenade.

Aveling Developments built the facility for the couple whose family business has been operating early learning centres in Perth for almost 25 years.

Mrs Chemello said the centre embodied their ethos of encouraging children to learn through play.

“We’ve achieved this by designing the facility so that the lines are blurred between inside and out,” she said.

“The covered outdoor playground is a very natural environment and features the extensive use of timber – and we’ve continued this theme inside.”

The centre has different zones including a baby room, toddler room and two kindy rooms and they have employed a full-time chef to cater for children’s nutritional needs.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts attended the official opening last month.
