THE owners of a recently opened gym in Yanchep want to enhance the suburb’s strong community.

Yanchep residents John and Hannah Dunlop and their friends Manasseh and Aimee Gudgeon have launched North Bound CrossFit.

The “community-based gym” runs group CrossFit classes, one-on-one training and sports-specific programs, with plans to later offer floatation tanks and saunas.

Mr Dunlop said the Stevenage Street facility had been their and Mr Gudegon’s dream for four years and they believed Yanchep was the ideal location.

“We knew Yanchep had a good community and we thought it would be good to help out with people’s fitness,” he said.

“We want to help people with their fitness goals and overcome fears of exercising.”

He said at many gyms people wore their headphones and worked out in isolation but they wanted to create a more comfortable and friendly environment where people could interact and bond over shared health and fitness goals.

The gym is at unit 1, 6 Stevenage Street.
