Dry July challenge

Mike and wife Fiona went booze-free for a month last year to raise $1500 for Dry July and support the Cancer Council WA.

The northern suburbs couple will tackle the challenge again this month with renewed passion.

‘My mother just beat cancer, fingers crossed, last year,’ he said.

‘We’ve got more purpose this time round.’

Mike said people thinking of taking part should just ‘give it a go’.

‘I usually have a drink most days and I thought I would struggle but I ended up finding it quite easy so it gave us inspiration to do it again.’

This year’s fundraiser will support Albany Health Campus and cancer support centres in Perth, Bunbury and Albany.
