City hopes to see the light at intersection

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

North ward councillor Laura Gray, who hopes to be re-elected this month, received unanimous support from her peers for a motion to get signals at the Marmion Avenue, Lagoon Drive and Peony Boulevard intersection at the September 17 meeting.

Councillors also supported the extending the school zone to the intersection and authorised the Mayor to ask the Police Commissioner to appoint a traffic warden there.

The Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association has made repeated calls for traffic signals and the school zone extension, citing safety concerns for pedestrians crossing Marmion Avenue and for vehicles following crashes in that area.
