THE City of Wanneroo Fire Service hosted a bushfire training drill in Clarkson last month.

Chief fire officer Phil Hay said the Department of Fire and Emergency Services simulated fire exercise was controlled at the City’s Quinns Rocks Fire Station in Clarkson.

‘The idea of the exercise is to test the state’s readiness to any major bushfire that could occur during our summer months,’ he said.

‘We feed the team scenarios throughout the day of things that could happen, which tests how they would respond with things such as resourcing, communication and community evacuation sessions.’
