Great turnout for Sun City Yacht Club’s first triathlon event

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

SEVEN teams took part in Sun City Yacht Club’s first triathlon event.

Commodore John Utley said the teams had “lots of enthusiasm and varying levels of fitness” for the December event.

“The first up swim leg over about 100m spread the teams out but they closed again over the 1km run and the final sailing leg was quite close, with the winning team only just pipping second place,” he said.

“It was a good fun day which I’m hoping we can build on.”

The winning team included Adele Fraser, Isabella Utley and Kendra Campbell.

The club holds dinghy sailing at Two Rocks Marina on Saturdays, with training in the mornings and racing in the afternoons.

Mr Utley said the next social event would be an “all-you-can-eat pizza Sunday” on February 12.
