Hells Bells to ring from Ocean View Tavern when ACDC cover band rocks out

PERTH’S longest serving AC/DC cover band Hells Bells will return to Nowergup for their sixth annual show this Saturday.

The band will cover all AC/DC’s greatest hits from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras at the October 29 event at Ocean View Tavern.

Following on from a free City Of Wanneroo open-air concert in Two Rocks in 2011 where 8000 people – mainly families – attended, Hells Bells was approached to play at the tavern.

“Over the past five years we’ve had some very special guests share the stage with us and we feel very privileged to be in such good company,” rhythm guitarist Mal Osborne said.

“Now in its 11th year, Hells Bells continues to draw people to the character of the band, which is fun first, power chords next.

“We don’t worry about dressing up or playing any particular role, we just like to play the music as we feel it.

“With all of us having grown up listening to AC/DC in our teens, we play the music without thinking too much.”

Die hard AC/DC fans can expect complete live versions of classics such as Bad Boy Boogie, Let There Be Rock and The Jack, as well as crowd favourites TNT, Shook Me All Night Long and Thunderstruck by singer Wayne Curnow, who easily switches between Scott and Johnson.

This year, special guests include Mick Parker, a blues’n’roots storyteller, singer and guitarist, and all-girl band Legs Electric.

There will be hot food available all night long and a courtesy bus will run from Wanneroo to the venue and back again at the end of the night.

Pre-book tickets from the Wanneroo Road venue or at ticketbooth.com.au for $20 or pay $25 at the door..
