UPDATE: Mitchell Freeway north reopened after truck crash

UPDATE: Mitchell Freeway north of Burns Beach Road has finally reopened, more than 24 hours after a truck jackknifed yesterday.

EARLIER: Mitchell Freeway northbound is still closed from Burns Beach Road after a truck jack-knifed yesterday afternoon.

At 12.40pm today, clean-up crews were still on site after more than 50 litres of diesel had spilled on the road.

Traffic management crews are also on site.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes.

YESTERDAY: A TRUCK has jack-knifed on the Mitchell Freeway, north of Burns Beach Road.

The freeway is closed while emergency services clean up more than 50 litres of diesel spilled on the road.

Northbound diversions in place via Burns Beach Road and Connolly Drive.

Drivers are being warned to expect long delays and seek alternative routes.

Main Roads WA has recommended drivers consider exiting at Hodges Drive.
