New look for outdoor area

The Pat Giles Centre provides services and accommodation for women and children who have experienced domestic violence.

Staff from Lend Lease’s developments at Lakeside Shopping Centre and Alkimos Beach visited the refuge on September 19 to help out.

‘The Patricia Giles Centre provides valuable services to the community and we hope our contribution will create a more welcoming and safe environment for women and children,’ developer project team leader Anisha Advani said.

Centre chief executive Kedy Kristal said they appreciated help to improve the home for the current families.

‘Families in these houses are making the transition back into the community after leaving violent and abusive partners, so it is very important that these houses are safe and secure,’ she said.
