Australia Post has installed lockers at 100 locations nationally this year in order to meet demand created by an online shopping boom, with an average of 115 parcels delivered locally every day.

Australia Post parcel and express services general manager Richard Umbers said it was a convenient way for local residents and businesses to pick up their parcels from a secure 24-hour location.

‘Parcel lockers make it even easier for local residents to receive their parcels at a time that fits in with their day,’ he said.

‘Already 80 per cent of customers who use parcel lockers choose them as their preferred delivery method and we expect similar results in Clarkson.’

To use the lockers, residents and businesses create a free Australia Post account and then register for the parcel lockers at auspost.com.au/parcel-lockers.

By using this as the postal address when shopping online, the parcel will be delivered to the lockers and the customer will receive an email with a PIN code to access the locker.
