The north west metropolitan police crime prevention unit and the City of Wanneroo hosted the forum on September 19.

Several speakers from WA Police and the Department of Education talked about issues during the half-day forum, including Sergeant Garry Corker who outlined a new truancy strategy.

Other topics included bullying, drugs and alcohol, graffiti, domestic violence and cyber safety.

Crime prevention Acting Sergeant Neil McMahon said numbers were lower than the expected 50 to 60 attendees because it coincided with a school reform strike.

The unit held a similar forum in the City of Joondalup last year.
