Positive resident feedback for Capricorn Yanchep park development

A DEVELOPER says it has received positive responses from residents after revealing images of a park under construction in the former Club Capricorn site.

Capricorn Yanchep project director Jarrod Rendell said “awesome” was the word used by most people commenting on social media after they shared artist impressions of the 3.6ha park.

“The Campground Adventure Park is over the former camping area of the original Club Capricorn Resort at the corner of Summerhome Parade and Campground Road,” he said.

“The Campground Adventure Park is strategically located in the heart of the Beachside precinct community and will have a wide variety of play equipment, including a dune tunnel slide, incline net climber, basket swing and toddler play area.”

Mr Rendell said Epcad had designed the park to reflect the area’s heritage as a camping ground, including a picnic shelter in the shape of a retro caravan. He said mature trees would be kept to provide natural shade.

The park’s 1.1ha first stage, expected to cost about $1 million, will open in November.
