Mrs Godfrey said she hoped to fill the Belmont Sport and Recreation Club’s capacity of 250 people and the event’s message of ‘having fun without trouble’ reached as many children as possible.
‘I think that, particularly within the Belmont area, we have to show young people that they don’t need alcohol or drugs to have fun,’ she said.
‘Instead of promoting alcohol as a way to socialise, let’s promote dancing and community events where everyone gets together.’
