THE City of Belmont has announced the appointment of its new chief executive.

John Christie was named as the successor to Stuart Cole at a special council meeting earlier this month.

“For the past nine years Mr Christie has been the director of technical services at the City of Melville and has previously held a management position with the City of Belmont,” Mayor Phil Marks said.

“Prior to that, Mr Christie worked in a variety of positions within the equivalent local government environment in Dundee, Scotland.

“As Mr Christie is familiar with the City of Belmont, we are confident he has a great deal to offer and will continue to promote the City and its many projects and initiatives that will benefit the City of Belmont now and into the future.”
