WACA Premier Cricket: Perth gets job done against Mt Lawley

PERTH completed the job against Mt Lawley on Saturday to secure victory in round 7 of the WACA Premier Cricket season.

After posting a strong 348 in the first week of play, Perth bowled out the Hawks for 158.

Second grade won outright thanks to a fantastic all-round game by Paul Nicholas and Brad Giles mopped up the tail with 5-22.

Young talent Kai Hickey scored a wonderful 117 to propel third grade to victory.

With good results once again in lower grades, Perth is currently third on the Club Championship table.

Round 8 is against Scarborough and play commences in First Grade at 11.40am at Fletcher Park on Saturday.

Spectators are welcome and food and drink will be available.

On Sunday, Perth won both T20 matches against South Perth and Subiaco Floreat to advance to the semi-finals on December 18.

South Perth remain in the top six despite a narrow loss to Joondalup at Richardson Park.

Brandon Guest was superb with three wickets but the Sky Blues could not avoid a loss, with Joondalup chasing down the day-one total of 232 with three wickets remaining.

In Female A-Grade T20 on Sunday, South Perth defeated Melville by five wickets at Richardson Park.

Perth Scorchers spinner Katie Hartshorn took one wicket for South Perth ahead of the Women’s Big Bash League, which starts on Saturday.
