NBL1 West women: Mandurah Magic to face tough test against undefeated teams Cockburn and Joondalup

A second-straight win has Mandurah’s women’s basketball season back on track but their biggest tests are to come this weekend.

The Magic head into a tough double header against undefeated sides Cockburn and Joondalup on the back of Friday’s 77-67 win over Lakeside Lightning.

Canadian import Nicole Fransson (18 points and 14 rebounds) and local favourite Emma Klasztorny (17 and 12) proved a strong double act for Mandurah, while evergreen guard Casey Mihovilovich had 10 points and eight assists in more than 32 minutes on court.

Lakeside recruit Teige Morrell was at her efficient best with the ball near the basket but was kept relatively quiet on the boards as Mandurah dominated the rebound count 55-36.

She had just seven rebounds, but shot 10 of 13 for 24 points.
