City of Stirling councillor apologises for inflammatory Orlando shooting comment

Kate LeaverStirling Times

STIRLING councillor Rod Willox was asked by the Mayor to withdraw an inflammatory comment referring to last week’s Orlando mass shooting.

Councillors voted on Tuesday night for chief executive Stuart Jardine to attend the 2016 International City/County Manager Association conference in Kansas City in the USA.

Cr Willox stood to address the council and offer Mr Jardine advice.

“If I could advise the CEO if they do want to go somewhere for a night out to be wary of the nightclub you go to,” Cr Willox said.
