Scarborough and Inglewood libraries have made the most of the good weather and set up outdoor reading areas, complete with free Wi-Fi, free downloadable eBooks and eAudio, games for children and a range of books and magazines.

Scarborough branch librarian Priya Lawton said the aim of the project was to foster a strong community spirit.

“The library is not just about getting books but about building a community hub where people can gather,” she said.
