Police hunt man after dog is stabbed and killed in Mirrabooka

POLICE are searching for a man who stabbed and killed a four-year-old labrador at a Mirrabooka park last night.

The owner of the dog, a 22-year-old Mirrabooka woman, was exercising her labrador off the lead at Apple Blossom Polyantha Reserve when a man approached the dog and attacked it.

The man is described as tall, white skinned with a light-coloured beard and he was wearing a tan-coloured hoodie and dark pants.

The owner took the dog to a veterinary hospital where it passed away as a result of the injuries.
