Respect park

Staff ReporterStirling Times

I WAS astounded last Friday afternoon to witness the complete disregard, lack of supervision and lack of parental guidance in the lovely council-maintained James Albert Park in Joondanna.

A group of primary school students and their mothers spend a normally lovely afternoon each Friday in this park.

Stirling council recently spent several days cleaning out and replenishing two sand pits with several truck loads of white sand. However, the children were carting loads of the sand up into the gazebo area and spreading it all around.

What a mess, and what a disgrace. The children were not totally to blame: the mothers just sat by watching and did not tell the children to stop.

Please people, the park is beautiful and just a little care and respect will keep it this way.
