SCARBOROUGH heads into the Premier Cricket Christmas break down in ninth after a heavy defeat to Perth at Fletcher Park in their round eight match on Saturday.

The Gulls were set a target of 310 by the Demons and it proved a task too much, bowled out for 154 from 45 overs.

Perth looked for maximum points by enforcing the follow on but Scarborough got through at 6-139 from 43 overs by stumps.

Jeremy Boyle top scored for the Gulls with 39 in the first innings.
