Denise S. CahillStirling Times

SUMO netball was on the menu at Scarborough Netball Club’s awards night held at Ambrose Estate, Wembley last month.

Player and coach Kobe Koerber, who owns Vivid Media, suggested to the committee that the club do something fun for its end of season celebrations.

Fourteen players donned sumo suits while president Kylie Harbo and senior division 1 coach Jane Downie commentated for the hilarious match that took place at the State Netball Centre.

Koerber said it was just something fun for the wind up and the game drew plenty of attention from people at the netball centre on the night, including the Perth Lions who were training.
