Swan chief executive Mike Foley said potential candidates were encouraged to attend before nominating to run.

“Being a councillor can be challenging, so it’s important that people know what they’re getting themselves into before putting their name forward,” he said.

“There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get all of the information you need to make up your mind whether this is for you.”

There are eight vacancies available for this election.

The seminar will be held on August 26 from 2pm at Midland Town Hall.

For more information or to register for the seminar go to www.swan.wa.gov.au or contact Meghan Dwyer on 9267 9120.
