Ellenbrook crime rates continue to decrease

Montana ArdonThe Advocate

THE Ellenbrook district’s crime rate continues to decrease, with latest crime data suggests it is becoming safer for families.

In her role as Police Minister, Liza Harvey accompanied Swan Hills MLA Frank Alban for a briefing and update of crime statistics for this region.

Since 2005, the overall crime rate across WA has declined 11.3 per cent, with Ellenbrook’s decrease playing a large part of that drop.

For the 2016-17 year to date to November, compared to the same period in 2015-16, crime in Ellenbrook has decreased overall by 3 per cent.

Mr Alban said he was pleased with the results.

“When considering that Ellenbrook’s population has increased by 6,000 residents in the last year alone, these statistics are very welcome.”
