SHIRE of Gingin will consider proposals for the redevelopment of Lancelin Caravan Park at its April meeting.

President David Roe said since the Shire assumed management last October, it had invited expressions of interest from prospective developers.

“The Shire is currently providing interim management at the park due to the cessation of the previous lessee and is partnering with Tourism WA to redevelop the site into an attractive coastal tourist destination,” Cr Roe said.

“Out of the submissions received during the expression of interest phase, two developers with the skills, design experience and financial resources to redevelop and operate a sustainable and functional tourist park have been selected to present their proposals to the council next month.

“A committee will then recommend one of the entities to enter into a new lease with the Shire, subject to approval from the Minister for Lands.”
